The Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bangladesh orchestrated a landmark event on February 7, 2020, hosting the inaugural Scientific Seminar on Preventive Oncology at the Krishibid Institute of Bangladesh. In collaboration with esteemed institutions such as the University of Health Sciences and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), and with the scholarly backing of the Faculty of Public Health, BUHS, the seminar aimed to underscore the critical role of prevention in tackling cancer. Including Prof. Dr. Faridul Alam, Vice-chancellor of Bangladesh University of Health Sciences, the occasion was graced with esteemed personnel of this field. The day was honoured having the gracious presence of Prof. Dr. Gourovi Mishra, Professor and Head of preventive oncology, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, India. The event, attended by 250 national and international delegates, showcased more than 30 pioneering research and insights through paper presentations and scientific posters, marking a significant stride in the realm of preventive oncology in Bangladesh. This success heralds a transformative era in cancer awareness and prevention endeavors, establishing the Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bangladesh as a vanguard in the battle against this formidable disease.
