On March 1st, 2024 Cancer Awareness Foundation of Bangladesh hosted the 2nd National Cancer Volunteer Summit at Bishwo Sahittya Kendro, Dhaka. It was an honor to have IFMSA Bangladesh as our youth development partner, uniting over 150 passionate cancer volunteers from 25+ esteemed institutions. Renowned speakers from across the nation illuminated the event with insightful discussions on cancer prevention, tackling the pressing challenges faced in Bangladesh’s current scenario. From the basics of cancer to the pivotal role of nutrition in prevention, each session provided valuable insights. Speakers shed light on the current cancer landscape, cancer screening essentials, and crucial psychological aspect of volunteering. The day’s apex was a workshop on community-centric cancer volunteering led. The day culminated in an exciting quiz contest, recognizing the exceptional talents among our volunteers. Amidst the enriching sessions, cultural festivities, and a spirited raffle draw, we celebrated our collective commitment to battling cancer and fostering hope.
